Description
Property Solutions Inc. in Chicago IL area seeks an Architect/Engineer for Building Due Diligence. At Property Solutions Inc., you will conduct forensic studies to identify and remedy physical deficiencies for existing buildings. For proposed projects, you will conduct review of construction drawings, costs, and cursory review of contracts and schedules. Furthermore, you will conduct Construction Monitoring, where you will be exposed to a wide variety of properties or construction developments, including multi-family, mixed-use developments, commercial properties, office buildings, retail/shopping centers, hotels, and industrial and warehouse buildings.
This is an ideal position for a senior or junior level Architect or Engineer, that wish to utilize their technical and forensic investigated skills of evaluating building systems and components.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering
- Expected to manage multiple projects concurrently and communicate status to clients and internal management
- Ability to conduct field visits including use of roof ladders, attics, and confined spaces
- Ability to travel 30%-50% of the time (including some overnight travel)
- Experience with reviewing or composing civil, structural, architectural, and MEP construction drawings
- Proficiency in computer programs in Word, Excel, and Outlook, and online platforms
- Perform investigative research of various properties and buildings
- Compose Property Condition Assessment reports, Construction Monitoring reports, and upfront Plan and Cost peer reviews for investors and lending institutions
- Conduct walk-through surveys of buildings to assess the condition of a building’s components and site work improvements. Prepare cost estimate costs to remedy building deficiencies
- Conduct review construction plans, costs, contracts and schedules
- Interview property owners, occupants, key site personnel and local government officials to obtain information concerning the subject property
