Lead Structural Engineer 1 - Nuclear
Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Lead Structural Engineer for nuclear projects. The role offers a hybrid schedule: three days in the office and two days remote.
Responsibilities- Lead a team of structural engineers.
- Interface with engineers from other disciplines and directly with clients.
- Guide the design and analysis of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations for nuclear facilities.
- Prepare, review, and provide guidance for design calculations and specifications.
- Collaborate with designers on drawing development.
- Travel to client and vendor sites for design reviews, plant site visits, and construction coordination.
- BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
- Ten or more years of experience in design and analysis of industrial, heavy commercial, or nuclear facility structures.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP
2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS. - Proficiency with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- PE or SE license.
- MSCE degree.
- On‑site construction support experience.
