Join to apply for the Principal Management Consultant role at Arcadis

Arcadis is the world’s leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. We are more than 36,000 people in over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Together we solve complex challenges and deliver greater impact.

Role Description

Arcadis’ Resilience Water Business Advisory practice is seeking a Principal Management Consultant to support our Digital Advisory Practice. The team focuses on management consulting for water, gas, and electric utilities, providing technology advisory, strategy development, feasibility analysis, process improvement, procurement, project management, and implementation for projects such as Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI).

Role Accountabilities

Utilities face evolving operational challenges that demand innovative and resilient solutions. In this role you will collaborate closely with Advisory Leadership to strengthen Arcadis’ presence in the utility technology arena — including AMI, customer information solutions, data analytics, and other smart utility solutions. You will support the growth and delivery of these services, leading internal teams to successful project outcomes.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, executives, partners, vendors, and internal teams.

• Serving as a strategic liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders throughout project life cycles.

• Supporting utility clients in planning and executing AMI or other utility technology implementations across water, gas, electric, or multi‑utility operations.

• Managing project scope, schedule, budget, financial performance, and stakeholder expectations.

• Leading and directing applicable user training and system testing activities.

• Coaching project personnel and promoting best practices to improve tools, processes, and overall performance.

• Providing annual thought leadership in these domains through key industry events and forums.

• Travel required as needed, up to 30% of the time.

Key Skills and Experience

Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels of a utility organization, and the ability to manage client expectations to ensure high customer satisfaction, are essential. A strong understanding of AMI, meter‑to‑cash processes, and utility business practices is required. Experience working with large water utilities, as well as electric and gas utilities, is strongly preferred.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• 10+ years of progressive experience in the utility industry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

Benefits

Arcadis offers a comprehensive benefits package for full‑time and part‑time positions, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), 401(k) plan, short‑term and long‑term disability, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), life insurance, paid parental leave, a rewards & recognition program, wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance, tuition reimbursement, nine paid holidays, and 20 days of paid time off (PTO) that accrue annually.

The salary range for this position is $113,933 – $222,739, varying by experience, education, budget, and location.

We want you to be able to bring your best self to work each day. We take equality and inclusion seriously and hold ourselves to account for our actions.
