Director of Structural Engineering
The Director of Structural Engineering will ensure all projects meet the latest codes, industry standards, and best practices. This senior role provides early design direction, drives quality and infrastructure improvements, and leads the QA/QC process across all structural projects. Responsibilities also include overseeing project submissions, providing technical feedback, maintaining client communication, and supporting project management, proposal development, market growth, and strategic planning initiatives.
Who You AreMasters degree or PE license preferred.
20+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on transportation projects.
Minimum of 5 years in a leadership or management role.
Strong expertise in bridge, retaining wall, and related structural design for public, private, and transportation sectors.
Proven ability to manage large, complex projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in structural design software and Microsoft Office Suite.
What Youll DoManage multidiscipline projects and subconsultants.
Ensure compliance with internal and client project delivery procedures.
Oversee technical standards, QA/QC, and loss prevention practices.
Participate in project scoping and client presentations.
Develop and lead training initiatives and knowledge-sharing programs.
Provide guidance from conceptual design through completion.
Collaborate with leadership to enhance staff development and technical resources.
Stay current with emerging technologies and tools relevant to structural engineering.
Contribute to professional organizations and industry publications.
