HBK Engineering, LLC is a fully licensed, professional engineering design firm headquartered in Chicago, IL with a staff approaching 700 individuals. HBK provides civil, environmental, structural, electrical, subsurface utility, construction support services and permitting facilitation. A Senior Structural Licensed Professional Engineer HBK Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Licensed Professional Engineer with a PE License in multiple jurisdictions or the ability to obtain them. The individual will function as Engineer of Record and oversee the technical execution of projects in various states. Working with a team of engineers and designers, the primary focus will be on structural and geotechnical utility infrastructure designs to support HBK's rapidly expanding service offerings across power, renewables, telecom, gas and municipal engineering sectors.

The Senior Structural Licensed Professional Engineer will provide technical oversight and day-to-day management for structural and geotechnical engineering projects. This role requires a deep understanding of the technical aspects of our work, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.

Our Structural Team’s service offerings include but are not limited to design of permanent and temporary structures such as poles, manholes, vaults, solar panel canopies and earth retention systems. Foundation work includes the design of slabs-on-grade, retaining walls shallow and deep foundations (i.e. micropiles, driven and helical piles) for various types of electrical, mechanical, solar equipment and structures. Field verification of existing conditions and to obtain as-built information may be required depending on project requirements.

Technical Responsibilities

• Work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering and construction-related issues.
• Prepare technical memos, reports, construction specifications, and other written documentation.
• Read and interpret drawings, calculations, schematics, and reports.
