Director of Events

Saddle & Cycle Club in Chicago, Illinois, is seeking a Director of Events to join a family-oriented, member-owned club known for its active event program, strong traditions, and high engagement across golf, racquets, aquatics, and year-round family events. Founded in 1895 on the shores of Lake Michigan, the Club is one of Chicago's oldest private clubs, with more than 130 years of history and a culture built around member-sponsored private events and established service standards.

The Director of Events leads the planning and execution of private events, weddings, banquets, member functions, and Club-sponsored programming, overseeing the full event cycle from initial inquiry through execution and final billing. This role provides hands‑on leadership to the events team while managing BEO accuracy, room setup and turnover standards, event budgets, vendor coordination, and member responsiveness. A key focus in the first year will be documenting and standardizing event workflows, developing an early‑career team to execute independently, and supporting the Club's transition to new event management software.
