Director – Utilities & Midstream
Join Fitch Ratings as a Senior Director leading coverage of the Utilities and Midstream sector. This role supports a global rating agency in the United States, with primary locations in New York, Chicago, or Toronto.

- Perform analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing credit quality of companies in the Utilities and Midstream sectors.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models.
- Conduct meetings with retail and consumer industry management teams.
- Present analysis to internal credit rating committees.
- Communicate rating rationale to external audiences (institutional investors, sell-side analysts, media) via meetings, conference calls, press releases and written research reports.
- Write timely and effective research on topical issues.
- Participate in the evaluation of other credits within Corporates and related credit groups.
- Represent Fitch in panel discussions and conferences arranged by industry associations and regulatory bodies.
- Mentor junior members of the Utilities & Midstream sector.
- May include managerial responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum) – MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- CFA, CPA or CFA candidate preferred.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience, with coverage or knowledge of the Utilities and Midstream sectors a plus.
- Capital markets and/or credit analysis experience a plus.
- Expertise in Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change.
- Team-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of and interest in learning more about the Utilities and Midstream industries.
- Professional background in capital markets and/or credit analysis with strong financial statement analysis skills.
- Desire to deepen exposure to and understanding of debt capital markets.
- Leadership pattern and ability to proactively interact with stakeholders.
