Director – Utilities & Midstream

Join Fitch Ratings as a Senior Director leading coverage of the Utilities and Midstream sector. This role supports a global rating agency in the United States, with primary locations in New York, Chicago, or Toronto.

• Perform analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing credit quality of companies in the Utilities and Midstream sectors.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models.
• Conduct meetings with retail and consumer industry management teams.
• Present analysis to internal credit rating committees.
• Communicate rating rationale to external audiences (institutional investors, sell-side analysts, media) via meetings, conference calls, press releases and written research reports.
• Write timely and effective research on topical issues.
• Participate in the evaluation of other credits within Corporates and related credit groups.
• Represent Fitch in panel discussions and conferences arranged by industry associations and regulatory bodies.
• Mentor junior members of the Utilities & Midstream sector.
• May include managerial responsibilities.

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum) – MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• CFA, CPA or CFA candidate preferred.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience, with coverage or knowledge of the Utilities and Midstream sectors a plus.
• Capital markets and/or credit analysis experience a plus.
• Expertise in Excel and Word.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change.
• Team-oriented mindset.

• Knowledge of and interest in learning more about the Utilities and Midstream industries.
• Professional background in capital markets and/or credit analysis with strong financial statement analysis skills.
• Desire to deepen exposure to and understanding of debt capital markets.
• Leadership pattern and ability to proactively interact with stakeholders.
