Bilingual (German/English) Audit Manager / Business Developer
Overview: Rödl & Partner USA seeks a Bilingual Audit Manager to lead auditing services for US‑Inbound international businesses in the Chicago, IL office. The role blends audit leadership with German client business development.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management throughout the year.
- Establish expectations of value to be delivered.
- Perform audit procedures for assigned clients, focusing on complex and specialized issues.
- Plan engagement objectives that comply with professional standards and address risk.
- Understand the client’s industry and recognize key performance indicators, business trends, and emerging technical/industry developments.
- Stay informed of general business/economic developments and their impact to the audit client.
- Lead business development activities to expand our German client base.
- Encourage team members to think independently and take responsibility for their contributions.
- Delegate work to team members and conduct timely performance reviews.
- Use technology to learn, share knowledge, and enhance service delivery.
- Maintain professional education and continually develop skills.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with other teams and apply knowledge to client services.
- Develop long‑term relationships and networks internally and externally.
- Collaborate with tax consultants for interdisciplinary issues.
- Travel is moderate, generally during busy season.
- 5–10 years of professional experience in audit and assurance services.
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or Master’s degree in Accounting/Taxation.
- Fluent German writing and communication skills.
- Dedication to teamwork and leadership.
- Integrity within a professional environment.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Open‑minded and interested in networking, seminars, and similar activities.
- USA and/or German CPA license or similar certification.
- Experience in the manufacturing and distribution industry.
- Pro System fx engagement experience.
- CCH Axcess experience.
