As part of Allstate Investments’ Private and Alternatives Investment Group ("PAIG"), the Portfolio Management & Analytics team’s goal is to improve investment and portfolio management decisions through the use of data and analytics. The candidate will support the team across a range of activities, including quantitative analysis, project management, dashboard design and creation, and regular portfolio monitoring. They will spend a majority of their time supporting the Private Equity and Infrastructure teams and will have interactions with other PAIG teams.
This position is hybrid, requiring presence in the RiverPoint / Chicago office ~3 days per week.
- Lead complex analytical projects, workflow optimization, dashboard creation, factor analysis, and performance attribution in collaboration with Portfolio Management, Middle Office, Risk, and Quant teams.
- Contribute to the development of quantitative models to identify opportunities to generate alpha within the PAIG group.
- Generate and present materials to senior Allstate Investments leadership.
- Assist with the establishment and continuous improvement of portfolio monitoring and portfolio management processes.
- Conduct analyses to support portfolio management hypotheses and potential improvements.
- Assist with the creation of quarterly and annual presentation materials, performance tracking, and other ad‑hoc projects.
- Leverage third‑party sources and best‑in‑class AI tools to develop insights into the broader alternatives/private equity markets.
- Participate in Investment Committee and Deal Committee meetings and, over time, contribute to underwriting and portfolio management discussions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analysis, Business Analytics, or a related field with strong academic performance.
- 5–7 years of professional experience across a combination of private equity, private investments, portfolio management, and fund of funds, focused on deal‑level and portfolio‑level quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- MBA is a plus but not required.
- CFA or CAIA designation preferred but not required.
- Lead complex projects involving data and analytics with strong decision‑making, attention to detail, and effective communication.
- Derive conclusions and stories from data and analyses, even when incomplete or complex.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust across internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage workflows, set goals and milestones, and oversee work from other team members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including bi‑directional communication with senior leadership.
- Proficient in Excel (Advanced), Python (Advanced), Power
BI (Intermediate), AI Prompt Engineering (Intermediate), and Statistical Analysis (Intermediate).
Base compensation offered for this role is $ – $ annually, based on experience and qualifications.
- Total compensation includes base salary plus applicable AIP.
