Job OverviewAs a member of CNA’s Actuarial organization, you will develop and recommend actuarial pricing and perform profitability reviews for CNA's Warranty Consumer & Commercial Products business unit. You will collaborate with business partners at all levels and serve as a trusted advisor to support pricing decisions and long‑term strategies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Establish relationships with business partners and functional subject matter experts, providing actuarial guidance as needed.
- Build strong relationships with peers, business partners and leaders to influence strategy through actionable insights and analytics.
- Complete profitability reviews, collateral reviews, profit sharing and other calculations according to schedule. Analyze feature detailed segmentation of results to fully inform management of business performance. Report progress to senior management and make recommendations as required.
- Provide pricing to new accounts and may create and modify existing tools/analytics as needed.
- Remain current on state issues and regulations, industry activity and trends.
- Support rate filing.
- Continually improve processes and maintain clear documentation of methods and assumptions.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities- Strong knowledge of core functions of an insurance company and actuarial and statistical concepts.
- Advanced actuarial technical expertise and product specific knowledge.
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence using analyses at various levels, including senior leadership.
- Experience building successful business partnerships.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to resolve complex situations and issues.
- Solid project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and lead teams.
- Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency; utilize all available resources to meet due dates.
- Ability to make critical business decisions effectively within scope of authority.
- Ability to creatively and effectively manage through ambiguous and challenging problems, lead through change.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
- Typically a minimum of seven years of related work experience. Lower experience levels may be considered, position level will be determined based on qualifications.
- Near ACAS designation and/or working toward FCAS.
- Experience with Arius and Alteryx, a plus.
In Illinois/New York/California, the average base pay range for a Senior Actuarial Consultant/Actuarial Consultant is $97,000 to $185,000. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
