What You'll Be Doing
The Accountant III is an accounting position that reports to the U.S. Region Senior Manager, Credit Control. This role will serve as a primary contributor and key point of contact for the Equipment Finance (“EF”) and Credit (Lending) business units. As a member of the U.S. Finance team, the Accountant III will be responsible for accounting, reporting, and maintaining internal controls related to the Equipment Finance and Credit business.
HowYou'll Succeed
- Equipment Finance
- Review loan vs lease classification for any new deal
- Review operating vs financing lease for all new leases
- Perform control function of ensuring lease/loan schedule reviewed by Finance are properly set up in Aspire
- Perform journal entries for cash movements that impact EF customers, fundings to the EF entity, finding new leases/loans
- Perform monthly EF GL reconciliations and verification of syndication revenues
- Perform SOX control functions for controls that reside within Finance for EF
- Credit
- Prepare GAAP and IFRS entries to record the monthly provision for loan losses.
- Prepare GAAP and IFRS entries related to allowance for credit losses.
- Perform monthly and quarterly analysis over credit‑impaired loans.
- Perform SOX control functions for controls that reside within Finance for the Credit team.
- Perform monthly Credit account GL reconciliations.
- Prepare quarter and year‑end reporting documents for use in the consolidated financial statements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- 3-5 year business related experience
- Financial Services experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP, particularly related to lease accounting
- Ability to develop and maintain close working relationships with internal stakeholders
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, including ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks
- Attention to detail while demonstrating the ability to think critically and see the big picture
- Competitive salary ($90,000 - $110,000 base)
