Assurance Experienced Manager
BDO USA seeks an experienced manager to supervise audit engagements, provide client consulting, and drive engagement profitability.
OverviewThe role involves directing and reviewing audit planning, field work, and wrap‑up stages, marketing and networking within a specialty area, and ensuring profitability through billings and collections. The manager advises clients on economic and regulatory risks, resolves complex accounting issues, applies GAAP and GAAS consistently, writes technical consultation memos, and documents, validates, tests, and assesses financial reporting control systems.
Responsibilities- Supervise audit planning, field work, and wrap‑up stages and delegate tasks appropriately.
- Market, network, and develop business within an area of expertise.
- Ensure engagement profitability involving billings and collections.
- Advise clients on economic and regulatory risks and complex accounting issues.
- Apply GAAP and GAAS consistently in complex situations and document and communicate findings.
- Write technical consultation memos on GAAP/GAAS issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics;
Master’s in Accountancy preferred. - Six or more years of prior audit experience with supervisory experience required.
- Active licensed US CPA, recognized international equivalent, or unique qualification acceptable.
- Prior significant supervisory experience required.
- Industry expertise in one or more assurance specialties preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Active licensed US CPA, recognized active international equivalent, or unique qualification as defined by BDO’s Assurance Licensing Policy required.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (preferred).
- Experience with assurance applications and research tools (preferred).
- California: $130,000–$160,000
- Colorado: $100,000–$130,000
- Illinois: $115,000–$130,000
- Maryland: $120,000–$150,000
- Massachusetts: $115,000–$125,000
- Minnesota: $100,000–$120,000
- New Jersey: $113,000–$138,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $110,000–$150,000
- Ohio: $95,000–$125,000
- Washington: $110,000–$135,000
- Washington DC: $120,000–$150,000
