Senior Tax Manager provides tax and consulting services to business clients and owners of pass‑through entities.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform tax planning, preparation and research for pass‑through entities (S‑corps, LLCs, partnerships) and owners’ individual returns, including estates, trusts and charitable entities.
• Manage client engagements, supervise and review work of team staff, collaborate with clients, internal managers and partners.
• Deliver timely services and work product to ensure client satisfaction.
• Demonstrate strong tax knowledge and stay current on developments and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with authorities and firm policies, and complete top‑level reviews and issue resolutions.
• Plan and review tax processes, budgeting, staffing, engagement monitoring, billing, collections, and client relationship management.
• Conduct research when needed, frame issues clearly, and report findings.
• Develop strategies to improve client positions, firm processes, and propose alternatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities
• Build and train a team of professionals to serve high‑net‑worth clients.
• Supervise and review work of associates and senior associates.
• Provide coaching, performance feedback, and workload scheduling.
• Act as a career advisor and mentor.
Education & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics).
• Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred.
• Eight (8) or more years of relevant tax experience, including work with individuals, estates, trusts, partnerships, S‑corporations and private foundations.
• Prior supervisory experience required.
• CPA, Attorney (U.S. admitted), or IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) required; other professional degrees or certifications preferred.
Skills & Abilities
• Detail oriented, strong written and verbal communication.
• Independent and team worker, can delegate effectively.
• Strong analytical, research, critical thinking and decision making.
• Ability to develop and manage a tax team and maintain client relationships.
• Executive presence and client interaction for issue presentation.
Software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

$146,000 - $200,000

Colorado: $165,000 - $180,000
Illinois: $140,000 - $190,000
Maryland: $150,000 - $180,000
Massachusetts: $150,000 - $206,000
Minnesota: $130,000 - $190,000
New Jersey: $155,000 - $200,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $190,000 - $225,000
Washington: $158,400 - $215,400
Washington DC: $162,000 - $190,000
