Ankura’s team of compliance professionals and former regulators provides expert guidance from the day of licensure through reporting, annual renewals, and all state regulatory examinations. Once a company is licensed, Ankura can serve as the overall state regulatory manager in the U.S. to ensure compliance with a myriad of state rules and regulations. Our compliance professionals can support all regulatory reporting and licensing requirements and will keep clients abreast of regulatory changes.
We are seeking a Senior Associate, License Maintenance, to join the team.
Ideally this role would be hybrid out of one of our locations; however, remote locations will be considered on a case‑to‑case basis.
Responsibilities- Working knowledge of state regulatory, exam and licensing process. May include conducting additional research as needed;
May require reviewing work conducted by Associate. - Participation in state license maintenance, exam support, and services related to remaining in good standing with states under the direction of project lead.
- Supporting the client base and team on state regulatory, exam and licensing matters under the direction of project lead.
- Supporting the team on specialized state projects such as transfers of control and regulatory remediation under the direction of project lead.
- Assisting with data gathering activities including document review and supervision and quality control of data entry activities.
- Providing non‑legal outreach to state regulators as directed by project lead.
- At least 5 years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office products.
- Experience with the acquisition of licenses for: money transmitters (MSB, fintech, payment companies), consumer lending companies, commercial lending, mortgage lending, consumer collections agencies and securities/brokerage (broker dealer, registered investment advisor, exempt registered advisor) and cannabis is the ideal candidate.
- Knowledge of license acquisition and maintenance for some of the above license types is required.
- Working knowledge of NMLS system is required.

- Participate as an active part of the team by offering support, and knowledge to colleagues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
