Job Description

The STS GES Senior Associate is responsible for developing, recommending, and implementing efficient and effective methods to maximize client benefits, particularly by decreasing clients’ current and future taxes. The Senior Associate is also responsible for executing tasks related to taxation of equity compensation, deferred compensation, and individual and corporate income taxes.

• Research: Identify when research is needed, outline issues, find appropriate sources, analyze facts, compose detailed reports, assist with compensation planning and benchmarking for executive compensation models.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure client compliance with applicable authorities, minimize compensation-related tax and reporting burdens, obtain required client information, accomplish tasks, document and organize work product for senior review.
• Compensation And Benefits Consulting: Review SEC filings of public companies, survey data, issue briefs, best practice guidelines; monitor regulatory actions; advise clients on compliance strategies.
• Strategy Development: Prepare studies of market practices and tax/regulatory activities; identify alternative courses of action; understand business objectives related to compensation strategies.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise day-to-day workload of Comp & Ben Associates and Interns, ensure training on relevant software, assist professional development, deliver performance feedback and evaluations.

• Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Business, Accounting, or Human Resources preferred.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Certified Compensation Professional, CPA, or other relevant certification preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) preferred.
• Statistical software proficiency preferred.
• High proficiency in English (verbal and written).
• Excellent communication, analytical, research, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
• Experience:
  
  Two (2) or more years of prior work experience in compensation and/or strategic service consulting preferred.
• Knowledge of legislative process regarding tax policy.

Individual salaries are determined by qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $73,500–$131,250

Maryland Range: $73,500–$131,250

NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $73,500–$131,250

Washington DC Range: $73,500–$131,250
