Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a Contract to hire basis in Chicago, Illinois. This role is ideal for an experienced, detail-oriented individual with expertise in financial reporting, loan accounting, real estate accounting and real estate transactions monitoring. You will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

- Oversee the maintenance of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

- Analyze financial statements and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.

- Prepare annual financial reports and plans to align with organizational goals.

- Handle loan accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Review and manage real estate payment plans and related financial transactions.

- Apply knowledge of capitalizing and expensing processes to ensure proper accounting treatment.

- Support corporate financial planning by consolidating financial data and preparing reports.

- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on financial objectives.

Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.

- Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation.

- Expertise in bank reconciliation and financial statement analysis.

- Proficiency in preparing annual financial reports and corporate financial plans.

- Familiarity with loan accounting and real estate financial transactions.

- Understanding of capitalizing and expensing standards.

- Ability to analyze consolidated financial statements and provide actionable insights.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
