Headof Finance – JLL Real Estate Capital
JLL seeks a strategic Head of Finance to lead the finance team of JLL Real Estate Capital (JREC), our agency lending business within the Capital Markets Services segment. The JREC business has grown significantly over the past decade, serving nearly $140 B of loans under programs backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. This role will serve as the primary finance partner for JREC leadership, manage risk and compliance activities, and coordinate finance across Capital Markets Services and JLL in line with OneJLL strategy.
Deep expertise in complex accounting, regulatory compliance and financial risk management is required.
- Business Partnership
:
Serve as a strategic finance partner to JREC leadership, providing financial insight on decisions including pricing, market expansion, and operational efficiency initiatives. - Portfolio Analysis & Risk Management
:
Synthesize loan pipeline data, servicing portfolio metrics, and market trends to deliver forward‑looking insights. Identify and monitor financial risks (credit, interest rate, operational, regulatory) and develop mitigation strategies. - Performance and Financial Reporting
:
Provide monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on JREC performance, focusing on key lending metrics such as loan origination volumes, pipeline analysis, net interest margin, credit quality and regulatory metrics. Automate reporting processes where possible. - Planning & Analysis
:
Lead annual planning and forecasting, incorporating regulatory requirements, portfolio data and growth projections. Develop sophisticated financial models for agency lending operations. - Regulatory Compliance & SOX
:
Ensure full compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley and other internal controls. Maintain understanding of agency lending regulations and coordinate with auditors, regulators and stakeholders. Support regulatory filings. - Working Capital Management
:
Partner with JLL Global Finance to develop and actively report on working capital balances, ensuring they inform daily business decisions. - Team Leadership
:
Guide professional development of the JREC finance team.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive finance experience with significant exposure to lending operations; preferably in commercial real estate or agency lending.
- Expertise in Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance, internal controls, and regulatory reporting.
- Strong understanding of credit risk management and regulatory frameworks within banking/lending environments.
- Deep knowledge of complex accounting (revenue recognition, fair value measurements, financial instruments).
- Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills; ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Proven experience leading finance teams and driving process improvements.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to present complex financial information to senior audiences.
- Detail‑oriented and strong project management capabilities.
On‑site – Chicago, IL (minimum three days per week in‑office). Reports directly to the Global CFO of Capital Markets and maintains a matrix reporting line to JREC leadership.
CompensationEstimated compensation: $‑$ USD per year. Final compensation based on qualifications, location, market conditions and internal considerations.
