As a Risk Management – Investment Bank Commercial Real Estate Analyst in the Wholesale Credit Risk team, you will play a crucial role in risk management and support for Commercial Real Estate transactions. Your responsibilities will involve working closely with top product bankers and other risk professionals specializing in Commercial Real Estate. Your primary tasks will encompass independent assessment and approval of loans and lending‑related commitments for Commercial Real Estate clients.
Job Responsibilities- Conduct credit analysis and help a deal team seek approval for lending and trading related transactions, including operating exposures, individually or as part of a deal team, with a focus on Commercial Real Estate assets and borrowers.
- Create written credit approval documents, which include the spreading and presentation of historical financial statement information and the related financial analysis, as well as projections of future cash flows for large corporate borrowers in the Commercial Real Estate sector.
- Develop a well‑informed and forward‑looking view of the business, financial and risks associated with a company and sector, with emphasis on Commercial Real Estate market dynamics.
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of client credit exposures, across industry classes, with a primary focus on Commercial Real Estate, on an ongoing basis.
- Participate in negotiating, finalizing, and executing documentation for loans and derivatives related to Commercial Real Estate transactions.
- Review and assign risk ratings and maintain updated credit research on your portfolio of Commercial Real Estate clients.
- Work with Investment Banking Coverage, Commercial Banking Coverage and Global Corporate Banking on allocation of capital for Commercial Real Estate clients; maintain threshold and industry limits for Commercial Real Estate exposures.
- Finance, Accounting, Economics Degree or equivalent, with coursework or experience relevant to Commercial Real Estate.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication, along with strong inter‑personal skills, especially in the context of Commercial Real Estate transactions.
- Academic training in the principles of accounting, corporate finance, capital markets products, and macroeconomics, with a focus on Commercial Real Estate.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate across teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Prior experience with Commercial Real Estate underwriting.
