Financial Analyst

A growing professional services organization in downtown Chicago is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its finance team. This position will play a critical role in revenue reporting, financial analysis, and business performance monitoring. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with large volumes of financial data to support key business decisions.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates coming from public accounting, consulting, or other professional services environments who are looking to expand their financial analysis and revenue management experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute recurring revenue, billing, and financial performance reports.
• Analyze revenue trends, client activity, and business metrics to identify opportunities and risks.
• Work closely with finance and operational stakeholders to ensure accurate revenue reporting and forecasting.
• Extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.
• Develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses.
• Ensure data integrity across multiple financial systems and reporting platforms.
• Assist with month-end reporting, variance analysis, and management reporting packages.
• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, revenue analysis, reporting, or related functions.
• Demonstrated ability to work with and analyze large datasets.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex financial data into meaningful business insights.

Technical Skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required, including:
• Pivot Tables
• XLOOKUP and VLOOKUP
• Complex formulas and data manipulation
• Large dataset analysis and reporting
• Experience with financial reporting systems, ERP platforms, or business intelligence tools is a plus.
