EssentialFunctions
- Serves as Assistant Director of Youth and Families in Care
- Serves as full line supervisor of subordinate supervisory staff
- Serves as a senior member of the Director's Executive Staff, providing advice and consultation on Department policies, programs, and operations involving Permanency, Clinical Practice, Child Services, and Licensing, as well as other assigned divisions and programs
- Interprets Department policies and procedures and state statutes to subordinate supervisory staff, community officials, and private citizens
- Reviews situations involving casework services, the media, or other unique circumstances
- Represents the Director and the Department before public officials, governmental and private agencies, child welfare councils, and civic organizations, possessing significant authority to bind the Department to a specific policy course of action
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
- Requires an MSW or master's degree in a related human services field, in business administration, or a juris doctorate
- Requires four years of administrative experience in human services in child welfare/child protection services
- Requires a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act (ANCRA) and other child welfare laws and Illinois child protection reporting/investigation regulations
- 6 years of experience supervising professional
- 5 years of professional experience in the oversight of a large program with multiple sites or multiple teams of subordinate professional staff
