Base pay range$30.15/hr - $45.25/hr
External candidates: $10,000 Sign on Bonus Major Responsibilities- Delivery of patient care using departmental standards of continued quality improvement
- Serves as a patient advocate to ensure that patients and customers needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills by answering questions from various hospital personnel, coordinating patient flow, and communicating with other technologists. Prioritizes emergency requests, expedites emergency room procedures for Radiologists interpretation, collects and distributes related paperwork.
- Maintains positive customer relations following prescribed department policies.
- Participates in team problem‑solving issues that would improve patient care, department operations, film quality, inter‑departmental relationships and employee satisfaction.
- Transports patients into and out of department when necessary.
- Provides education to all patients before, during and after exams.
- Revises patient satisfaction data and participates in improving areas of concern.
- Utilizes appropriate resources to resolve patient issues.
- Maintains a positive relationship with all customers i.e. patients, other departments, physicians and fellow associates.
- Provides consistent delivery of customer service by using tools such as AIDET, Key Words at Key Times and modeling the Behaviors of Excellence.
- Determines appropriate radiographic technique and positions patient using immobilization and support devices to ensure optimum film quality
- Positions patient and adjusts equipment, immobilization and support devices as necessary, using tact and courtesy at all times.
- Determines appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy and patient’s condition to obtain quality films to provide Radiologist with a diagnostic tool.
- Secures history from patient regarding reason for prescribed test, and records on appropriate form for Radiologists information.
- Checks film quality to assure optimum quality and makes sure correct film labeling is provided.
- Operation of advanced and sophisticated state‑of‑the‑art digital, portable equipment, computed radiography and PACS
- Assists Radiologists with fluoroscopic procedures including the more advanced and specialty procedures requiring additional experience and knowledge.
- Operates portable radiographic equipment and fluoroscopic C-arms in patient’s room, intensive care units and surgery. Operates computed radiographic equipment and PACS equipment.
- Prepares radiographic/fluoroscopic rooms for procedures and maintains equipment as required.
- Ability to troubleshoot diagnostic/fluoroscopic computed radiography PACS equipment and communicate appropriately before equipment becomes a major breakdown.
- Ensures a secure and safe patient and work environment by maintaining continued awareness of safety hazards
- Adheres to safety practices and provides a safe work environment for self and others.
- Enter and report safety events in a timely manner.
- Develops leadership skills and professionalism for self through participation in department and/or hospital‑based committees and continuing education programs
- Attends to personal work schedule in a consistent and professional manner.
- Demonstrates self‑direction by identifying learning needs and establishing self‑development activities.
- Completes all development goals and departmental in‑services and competencies, within timeframe.
- Attends and participates in department meetings.
- Works independently while maintaining adaptability and flexibility for change.
- Identifies problems and takes steps toward resolution.
- Provides instruction and direction to students participating in the clinical program and helps evaluate performance.
- Provides instruction and direction to technologists in the performance of specific related duties.
