Pediatric Psychologist – Plastics role at Northwestern University

The Department of Psychiatry at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago are seeking a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor. This position is intended for a pediatric psychologist who will join a multidisciplinary child and adolescent psychiatry department in a nationally ranked, freestanding children’s hospital located on the medical school campus.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct outpatient psychological services and inpatient consultations for patients on the plastics/surgery service
  • Provide psychological treatment of and/or referrals for patients on the plastics/surgery service
  • Consult to parents, schools and medical/surgical staff
  • Supervising trainees from psychology and psychiatry
  • Engaging in scholarly activities and conduct research

Qualified candidates will have obtained a PhD or PsyD in a psychology training program and completed an APA-approved internship specializing in clinical child or pediatric psychology. At least one of training programs must have been APA-approved. It is preferred that this individual have fellowship-level training in pediatric psychology which includes the evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents with complex medical needs.

Clinical experience with medical specialties including plastics/surgery is preferred.

Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a full-time position. Start date immediate after licensure in Illinois. Applications will be evaluated as received. The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.

The expected base pay range for this position is $127,500 – $170,422.

This is a position at Lurie Children's Hospital but the initial application is made online through Northwestern University.
