These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner, following the mission, values, and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. Employees are expected to provide high quality care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and guests.

Job Requirements:
- Track all relevant surgical metrics, including but not limited to on-time starts, total case times, surgery quantity, etc.
- Create plans and processes for continual improvement of all surgical activities
- Assess administrative and practice processes and generate ideas and solutions for improvement on a continual basis
- Work independently and/or engage other management in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures as needed
- Advise practice about current trends, problems and medical activities to facilitate policy making
- Review existing protocols, policies, and procedures annually, and make updates as needed
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies; monitor operations, programs, and facilities and initiate changes aligned with OSHA and universal precautions
- Communicate information effectively, timely, and professionally with all employees at all levels
- Participate in management meetings led by Leadership Team and contribute to areas of direct responsibility
- Coordinate with human resources recruiting needs, conduct interviews, make selections, and coordinate hiring of new personnel
- Oversee the business and financial affairs of the surgical unit in conjunction with the revenue cycle team
- Enhance operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing quality of care
- Monitor and manage supply usage and ordering to ensure optimal practices
- Manage employees reporting directly to the position, providing leadership, motivation, development, and discipline to promote quality performance and achievement of financial and quality objectives
- Create and implement performance improvement action plans for employees needing additional training, compliant with management philosophy
- Resolve medical-administrative problems and maintain open lines of communication to ensure high employee morale and a professional environment
- Monitor overtime and time-off requests to achieve financial goals and minimize excess and waste
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Computer experience and medical terminology preferred
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Health, and Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
