Community Health Worker Apprenticeship Program

Join the Community Health Worker Apprenticeship Program role at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

The salary range for this position is $18 - $18 (Hourly Rate). Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity.

The Community Health Worker Apprentice reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

This one-year apprenticeship program at Northwestern Medicine will provide each participant with both experience and training. The program consists of on-the-job training while attending courses to complete your Community Health Worker (CHW) Certificate.

Responsibilities include:

  • Upholding the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine.
  • Successfully completing projects and work tasks assigned.
  • Developing a working knowledge of hospital operations to a degree that allows for the successful completion of projects supporting a variety of hospital operations.
  • Developing working relationships with staff and management that allows for successful business interactions across all levels of the organization.
  • Participation in activities designed for the development of apprentices during their assignment at Northwestern Medicine.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Current enrollment in certificate program
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Product suite (e.g., Word, Excel, One Note and PowerPoint).
