Position: Ultrasound Tech - Full-time - 3rd Shift - Trinity

Ultrasound Tech - Full-time - 3rd Shift - Trinity

Base pay range: $37.50/hr – $56.25/hr

Responsibilities
  • Position, transfer, and immobilize patients for procedures, ensuring optimal quality exams.
  • Operate portable ultrasound equipment across the hospital as required.
  • Assist physicians with recommendations for obtaining optimal studies by suggesting selections for technical factors.
  • Maintain correct patient records, assemble daily patient schedules, and prepare patient folders.
  • Prepare ultrasound rooms, ensuring equipment and supplies are available before procedures.
  • Know and operate hospital computer systems as required.
  • Secure pertinent medical history from the patient for each procedure to provide the radiologist with adequate information.
  • Work closely with the radiologist when requested to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain a positive attitude when dealing with patients, staff, and personnel.
  • Comply with established hospital safety standards, maintaining annual CPR certification and operating equipment safely.
  • Use universal precautions, protecting self and others from bodily fluid exposure.
  • Keep abreast of current skills and developments in the field of ultrasound.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with at least one year of clinical scanning experience.
  • Eligible for ARDMS registry within 24 months of graduation.
  • Possess high technical knowledge to perform specialized ultrasound studies with minimal assistance.
  • CPR certification.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Adjust to flexible hours at minimal notice.
  • Work odd hours, including late hours on-call.
  • Respond to emergency calls in minimal time.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Continuously view video display screen during exams.
  • Perform lifting activities related to patients, including lifting up to 35 pounds without assistance; use patient handling equipment when necessary.
Additional Information

This position requires the ability to recognize the needs and behaviors of all age groups and communicate effectively with patients of varying development levels.

Report patient safety events and near misses in a timely fashion, adhere to all behavioral and procedural patient safety practices, promote a culture of safety, communicate openly, and report intimidating behavior promptly.
