Restricted Part Time (Total FTE less than 0.5). Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Pay Range: $41.44 – $67.44 per hour.

Summary

The Pediatric Cardiology/Pediatric Congenital Heart Disease Program at Rush provides personalized, compassionate care for congenital and acquired heart disorders. The program performs echo cardiographic procedures for patients from fetuses to adults with congenital heart disease.

Required Qualifications
  • ARDMS registered in Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS PE) OR CCI registered (RCS and RCCS) with 3 years sonography experience in pediatric and adult congenital populations.
  • Registration in Fetal Echocardiography (ARDMS RDCS FE) expected within 12 months of employment.
  • Demonstrated pediatric echo experience.
  • BLS certification.
  • Proficient understanding of cardiac physiology, anatomy, and pathology.
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and medical staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in fetal echocardiography.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to move a portable 550-pound machine throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities
  • Perform and provide preliminary reports for patients ranging from fetuses to adults with suspected or confirmed congenital and acquired heart disease.
  • Obtain diagnostic information on congenital heart disorders using 2D, Doppler, speckle tracking, 3D, TDI, stress echocardiogram, and TEE modalities.
  • Participate in ICE echoes during interventional procedures or surgeries.
  • Assist in preparation of echocardiography materials for case conferences, CQI meetings, research and educational presentations.
  • Train residents, fellows, students, and technologists as directed.
  • Work independently to perform procedures according to Echocardiography Laboratory standards.
  • Maintain and clean echocardiography equipment, notifying personnel when servicing is needed.
  • Rotate to offsite hospitals or clinics if required.
