Physician Assistant – Otolaryngology (Otology) – Full‑time, Days

Salary range: $60.00 – $79.67 hourly. Placement depends on experience and internal equity. Northwestern Medicine seeks a Physician Assistant to provide outpatient otology care for patients with hearing loss, ear infections, tinnitus, etc. The role is autonomous, collaborates with physicians, and adheres to NM policies and regulatory standards.

Schedule
  • Four 10‑hour days (Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri)
  • No nights, weekends, holidays, or on‑call duties
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical care, demonstrating expertise in otology
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic ear conditions
  • Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals
  • Develop educational strategies for patients, families, and staff
  • Mentor graduate students in advanced practice
  • Participate in or conduct research and quality improvement related to otology
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, order and interpret tests, prescribe medications, and document care
  • Coordinate discharge planning and after‑visit care
  • Advocate for patients and participate in committees or task forces
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program (CAP)
  • Licensed PA in medicine in Illinois
  • Active Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation PA license
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification
  • ACLS certification (as specified by department)
  • Controlled substance license and DEA registration (as specified)
  • Minimum 1 year of prior PA experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • ENT experience
