Pay Range: $32.00 - $52.08 per hour
SummaryThis role will provide MRI imaging for the broad patient population applying protocols defined by the organization’s radiologists and cardiologists. It will produce MRI images that meet the quality expectations of the department. As an MRI Tech, you will understand and integrate into the delivery of patient care regarding patient growth and development. The position actively supports the Hospital’s and Department’s continuous quality improvement and customer service goals, individually and as an effective team member, exemplifying Rush mission, vision, and ICARE values while acting in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Qualifications- Completion of didactic coursework in an accredited MRI Program.
- Completion of at least 60% of required clinical hours in an accredited MRI Program.
- Current CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – BLS from American Heart Association preferred.
- Competent and proficient in operation of MRI equipment.
- Demonstrates good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Working knowledge of the IT systems that support the modality.
- Ability to identify and flag abnormalities.
- Requires full range body motion including handling and lifting patients when necessary.
- Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination.

Responsibilities- Provide patient and family focused care that supports a welcoming and supportive environment and a positive patient experience.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Understand and follow departmental protocols and procedures in the performance of exams and produce work that meets quality standards.
- Identify and flag abnormalities.
- Produce work in an efficient manner that meets departmental productivity standards.
- Maintain the physical work environment in a manner that meets departmental and regulatory requirements.
- Report supply shortages or equipment failures to section supervisor.
- Follow work and patient schedules.
- Assist physicians in the performance of procedures.
- Maintain logs and documentation as per departmental protocol.
- Provide patient history or information necessary for proper interpretation of the procedure.
- Participate in the training and development of students assigned to the area through clinical affiliations.
- Fill department staffing needs as determined by the management team.
- Adjust work schedule, including overtime and evening/weekend hours, as needed to meet staffing requirements.
