Crisis Worker, Mobile Crisis Response - Part‑Time
Use your clinical skills to be a part of transforming the crisis care system! Like a physical health crisis, a mental health crisis can be devastating for individuals, families, and communities. Thresholds’ Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) is committed to providing services and supports to best meet the needs of individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. As a Crisis Worker, you will respond to mental health crises in the Uptown, Lakeview, and North Center communities, acting as an alternative to or in conjunction with hospitalization or police response.
Responsibilities- Respond to calls on the crisis hotline and conduct a rapid safety assessment to determine appropriate response.
- Coordinate services with a Peer Engagement Specialist, meeting clients at home, their workplace, or other community locations.
- Assist clients with the least restrictive intervention, from walking through a panic attack to supporting hospitalization.
- Provide community interventions year‑round, in all weather conditions, and distribute basic necessities such as first aid items, water, or warm clothing.
- Offer follow‑up to clients post‑response and document services provided.
- During downtime, focus on professional development through self‑directed projects and community outreach.
- Passion for mental health advocacy.

- Good writing skills.
- Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
- Minimum age 23 years.
- Valid driver’s license (daily vehicle access preferred).
- Ability to work assigned schedule:
Saturday 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. - Physical requirement: remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods, plus occasional traversal of long distances and ascending/descending multiple flights of stairs.
- High school diploma or GED + 5 years supervised clinical experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in unrelated field + 2 years supervised clinical experience.
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Competitive pay – Salary Range: $26.50 – $30.00 per hour (based on education, experience, and clinical licensure).
