Hourly Pay Range

Hours:
Monday-Friday, 5am-1:30pm, rotating weekends and holidays
- Assigns and monitors work to ensure laboratory customer service requests are met accurately, timely, and appropriately.
- Applies skills and experience to identify problems as they arise, implements appropriate troubleshooting, and follows through.
- Operates and utilizes the Data Management functions of the LIS to address lab service needs.
- Conducts all communication transactions in a professional and courteous manner, deferring to appropriate administrative personnel as needed.
- Proficient in specimen preparation and processing procedures.
- Processes all reference lab testing and uses associated electronic databases of the reference labs.
- Coordinates orientation and training of phlebotomy staff and students.
- Supports the Quality Assurance Program related to phlebotomy service areas and reports infractions.
- Accurately performs venipunctures and capillary specimen collection for all inpatients and outpatients of all age groups.
- Collects body fluid or other samples including nasal and throat swabs, stool, urine, semen, and breath samples.
Assists with inventory management duties as assigned.
Requirements- Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience. - Certification: CPR-BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider required and PBT (ASCP) certification preferred.
- Experience:
2 years of Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred. - Skills:
Good communication and organization skills, moderate computer skills, reliable transportation to travel between sites, strong customer service, basic typing/keyboarding, ability to process esoteric testing, leadership, organizational and communication skills (verbal, written, telephone).
