Salary range: $40.07 - $52.09 per hour

DescriptionA licensed master’s prepared social worker responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive psychiatric social work services in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team in the Stone Institute of Psychiatry. Provides clinical services to patients per department policies and integrates assessment and treatment into patients’ family and community environments to maximize benefits.
Responsibilities- Complete biopsychosocial assessment to guide treatment planning.
- Conduct individual, group, and family services specific to program scope and patient needs.
- Collaborate with treatment team, NMH network, and community systems for treatment and discharge planning.
- Manage funding issues related to patient care.
- Educate patients, families, and significant others about mental illness and/or chemical dependency.
- Participate in projects to improve clinical services within SIP and NMH.
- Supervise graduate social work students.
- Document accurate clinical information in patients’ medical record.
- Collaborate with other departments/programs and external resources as needed.
- Perform comprehensive assessment and recommend treatment plans.
- Provide psychosocial treatment to patients, families, and groups.
- Use assessment, diagnosis, and treatment expertise to optimize functioning.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team planning.
- Educate patients and families about mental illnesses and treatments.
- Demonstrate knowledge of community resources and connect patients to them.
- Advocate for patients to access necessary resources.
- Perform discharge planning to achieve timely discharge.
- Foster a communication-conducive milieu.
- Use established communication channels to resolve work-related problems.
- Model “Patient First” standards.
- Participate in unit/program meetings and Institute-wide committees.
- Orient new staff as appropriate.
- Meet mandatory educational requirements.
- Engage in workshops, conferences, Psychiatry Grand Rounds, and in-services.
- Provide graduate-level social work field supervision.
Required
- State of Illinois Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university graduate program
Preferred
- 1–3 years experience in mental health setting
- Training in chemical dependence
- Knowledge of community resources and systems of care
