Overview
The Waterford Care Center is seeking a Resident Assistant to join their team. The Resident Assistant assists in providing exceptional customer service to our residents, performing non-medical assistance. The base pay range is $18.50/hr - $20.00/hr, based on skills and experience.
Responsibilities- Greet and maintain positive, friendly relationships with all residents
- Assist in-room residents by visiting with them, writing letters, running errands, and assisting with crafts or projects as necessary
- Ensure rooms are prepared for the arrival of new residents
- Assist with the distribution of food trays to residents
- Manage, maintain, and organize resident property in accordance with policies and standards
- Help organize and put away resident laundry
- Answer call lights and coordinate with appropriate staff to assist residents as needed
- Address resident concerns with appropriate department heads and leadership
- Escort residents to assigned areas throughout the facility as needed
- Make beds and keep rooms tidy
- All other duties as assigned
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to serve residents in a manner that makes them feel valued
- Passion for the elderly and other residents in our care
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- Must enroll in a certified nursing certificate program within 3-6 months of employment
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling; ability to distinguish smells and temperatures; all with or without the aid of mechanical devices
- Ability to push a wheelchair weighing up to 300 lbs
- Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards; understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required
