We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our Radiology Department on a part-time basis for rotating weekend coverage (Sat‑Sun, Mid/AM) as needed. This role is ideal for professionals seeking supplemental hours in a supportive, mission‑driven environment or for those balancing other life or career responsibilities.
- Perform a full range of diagnostic imaging procedures, including routine, portable, fluoroscopic, and C‑arm studies.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient history and imaging details.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and the care team.
- Maintain cleanliness, functionality, and proper stocking of imaging rooms and equipment.
- Respond to emergent patient care needs and support workflow during busy periods.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and patient privacy standards.
- Perform diagnostic X‑ray imaging procedures with precision and care, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Interview patients to obtain relevant medical history and verify essential information such as pregnancy status, prior procedures, and contraindications.
- Accurately chart and document all procedures, including post‑study details, observations, and patient education, in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with radiologists, referring providers, nurses, patients, and family members to ensure coordinated care and proper follow‑up.
- Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, perform quality control checks, and promptly report malfunctions or concerns to appropriate personnel or vendors.
- Practice radiation safety principles at all times, including proper shielding, exposure control, and adherence to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) standards.
- Prepare exam rooms and equipment prior to procedures and ensure all supplies are stocked and organized.
- Position patients accurately and use appropriate imaging techniques to obtain optimal diagnostic images while minimizing patient discomfort.
- Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to changes in condition or distress.
- Assist in training, mentoring, and orienting new staff or students as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and institutional policies.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development to remain current with best practices and licensing requirements.
- Completion of an accredited 2‑year radiologic technology program.
- Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) certification.
- Current ARRT certification.
- CPR certification.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a patient‑first attitude.
- Ability to engage with patients and families with empathy and professionalism.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently during rotating weekend shifts.
