The Role
The Senior Research Fellow, Child Health Services Research is expected to make independent and synergistic contributions to child health research within the PCH Research Group position is suited to an experienced academic who can demonstrate leadership and initiative in driving research strategy, collaboration, and outcomes.
The role involves contributing to high‑quality publications, competitive grant acquisition, and meaningful partnerships aimed at improving health service delivery and health outcomes for children and young people. Responsibilities include collaborating with diverse stakeholders—including clinicians, health services, policymakers, academic partners—and mentorship to students, groups and colleagues.
Responsibilities- Drive research strategy, collaboration, and outcomes within the PCH Research Group.
- Produce high‑quality publications and secure competitive grant income.
- Collaborate with clinicians, health services, policymakers, academic partners, and students.
- Mentor students, groups and colleagues.
- A PhD in health services research, epidemiology, psychology or non‑lab‑based child health research.
- Proven commitment to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Track record in research with high‑impact outcomes and evidence of research excellence.
- Experience in translational intervention research preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to generate grant income.
- Teamwork, collaboration, and relationship‑building skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Understanding of UNSW’s aims, objectives, values and relevant policies.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities.
- Verification of qualifications
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
