- Provides timely, non-judgmental, compassionate care to the sexual assault victim.
- This will include a forensic exam, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, photographic documentation, referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up, support, and participation in legal proceedings.
- The SANE is expected to follow protocols established by the Medical Director and/or management of the SANE program for which the SANE is employed.
- The SANE is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Unrestricted State Driver’s License.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Completed approved Illinois SANE training (40 hours of didactic coursework).
- Complete the initial pediatric SANE training within 6 months of hire.
- One (1) year of experience as SANE required.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $36.41 to $55.19 per hour.
The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
