Work Schedule: 8 Hr Shift

8 Hr (7:30:00 AM - 6:00:00 PM) Shifts Vary 7:30 to 4:00 PM or 10:00 to 6:00 PM

Must be available for 2 weekends per month.

This position covers up to 5 different Pharmacy locations including -

  • Rush Rubschlager Building - 1520 W Harrison St, Chicago, IL 60607

  • Rush POB - 1725 W Harrison St Suite 418, Chicago, IL 60612

  • Rush North and Harlem - 1625 N. Harlem Ave. Chicago, IL 60707

Pay Range: $49.53 - $78.02 per hour

Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. Summary

The Pharmacist is responsible for assuring the effective and efficient provision of pharmaceutical care services. Perform all duties necessary to provide for the effective daily operation of departmental services and programs. The Pharmacist is proactively involved in safe, rational and cost-effective therapeutic decision making. In the course of performing his/her duties, the Pharmacist is responsible for the activities of pharmacy residents, students and supportive personnel as assigned in all practice areas.

The Pharmacist reports directly to the immediate supervisor of the assigned practice area. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy and/or Pharm

    D.

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Illinois.

  • Effective verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

  • Strong work ethic with demonstrated leadership activities or potential for developing leadership behavior.

  • Must be able to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including within the Department of Pharmacy.

  • Continually support and participate in the development of the Pharmacy Department’s goals and objectives. Candidates must be comfortable with change that is associated with these efforts

  • Demonstrates leadership in performance of expected responsibilities.

  • Maintains currency in the professional and clinical literature of the profession.

  • Maintains competency in unique aspects of drug therapy for the patients care is provided for. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of clinical monitoring activities.

  • Demonstrates the ability to use standard texts, online drug information resources and other sources of information and apply it to general patient care questions.

  • Effectively and respectfully communicates with patients, pharmacists, nurses and physicians. Represents the face of the Department of Pharmacy in a professional manner during every interaction with our customers.

  • Maintains working knowledge of medical center and departmental policies and procedures, including safety issues, inventory control and distribution, and infection control.

  • Participates in educational seminars presented by residents in the Department.

  • Required to attend medical center and/or departmental inservice or continuing education programs.

  • Completes required age/disease state specific competencies. Completes medical center required annual competencies or educational programming.

  • Assists in the training of new employees, support personnel, residents, and students. Precepts pharmacy students on hospital and/or clinical rotations, consistent with academic credentials and clinical experience.

  • Takes responsibility for personal and professional growth within assigned position in the Department of Pharmacy.

  • Maintains active Illinois licensing status to practice.

  • Encouraged to pursue board certification (BPS).
