Youth Care Specialist - Overnight Shift - St. Catherine of Siena - Chicago 60108

Maryville Academy’s St. Catherine of Siena provides care and support to medically fragile youth. This role offers valuable experience in the nonprofit sector while allowing you to develop your skills and advance your career within the Maryville Community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach individual and group instruction in social living skills, independent living skills, vocational and job-related skills, appropriate touch, anger management skills, maintenance, academic and study skills, and recreation activities.
• Document Medicaid services and complete incident reports.
• Participate in individual treatment team meetings and contribute to treatment decisions regarding program and assigned youth.
• Assist youth in processing events and emotions in a confidential manner across all behavioral areas.
• Implement Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) techniques when required.

Qualifications:

• $22.00 or $24.00 per hour depending on degree; eligible for overtime if available.
• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, social work, education, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, family therapy, or a related human services field; OR a bachelor’s degree in any other field with two years of experience in a mental health or recovery setting; OR a high school diploma/GED with five years of experience.
• Valid Illinois Driver’s License and ability to drive a passenger van.
• Ability to interact professionally and work effectively as a treatment team member.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with youth, supervisors, coworkers, subordinates, and support agencies.
• Flexibility in scheduling, including willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Over the age of 21.
• Must be willing to work full‑time overnight shifts.

Physical Demands:

• Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and drive for extended periods of time; ability to walk up and down stairs.
• Required to lift/move objects and/or youth weighing more than 40 pounds.
• May need to provide physical restraint to youth.
• May contact youth who may be hostile, dangerousvirons, threatening, aggressiveव्ह, suicidal, and/or under the influence भाई of drugs and alcohol.
