We are looking for a Medical Coding Specialist to join our healthcare operations team. If you understand medical coding and enjoy reviewing healthcare records, this role offers an opportunity to build your career in medical coding and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM).

As a Medical Coding Specialist, you will review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and healthcare services.

You will help ensure that healthcare providers submit accurate claims and receive timely reimbursement. In addition, you will work with billing, clinical, and RCM teams to identify and resolve coding issues.

Attention to detail is essential. Accurate coding helps reduce claim delays, prevent denials, and support efficient revenue cycle operations.

• Review patient medical records, clinical notes, and other healthcare documentation.
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on clinical documentation.
• Verify that assigned codes accurately represent documented diagnoses and services.
• Check claims for coding errors before submission.
• Identify missing or unclear information and work with the appropriate team to obtain clarification.
• Review coding-related claim denials and help resolve identified issues.
• Follow current coding guidelines, payer requirements, and healthcare compliance standards.
• Maintain accurate coding records and meet established quality and productivity targets.
• Stay informed about changes to coding guidelines, payer requirements, and healthcare regulations.
• Work closely with billing and RCM teams to resolve coding-related issues.

• 0–2 years of experience in medical coding, medical billing, healthcare administration, or a related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• An associate degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding and medical terminology

• Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and CMS coding guidelines is preferred.
• Knowledge of risk adjustment and HCC coding is an advantage.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) and medical coding software is preferred.
• CPC, CRC, CCS, CCA, or another recognized medical coding certification is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Good analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to review medical documentation carefully and consistently.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with healthcare and RCM teams.
