Banquet Captain – Housekeeping, Events, Food & Beverage

Your main responsibility is to coordinate and oversee the banquet staff to provide excellent customer service with a smile, ensuring guests feel good and become loyal customers.

Base Pay Range: $16.00/hr – $16.00/hr + gratuity

• Assist with the setup of banquet rooms and event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and decorations according to event specifications.
• Ensure all necessary equipment, utensils, and silverware are clean, polished, and properly arranged, and that audiovisual equipment and lighting are set up and operational.
• Greet guests warmly upon arrival, escort them to their assigned tables, and provide assistance with seating as needed.
• Take food and beverage orders from guests, using suggestive selling techniques to promote additional items or upgrades.
• Serve food and beverages to guests promptly and accurately, following established service standards and presentation guidelines.
• Anticipate guests' needs and preferences and provide personalized service and attention to ensure a memorable dining experience.
• Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns, resolving any issues or complaints with empathy and professionalism.
• Clear tables, remove used dishes and utensils, and replenish supplies as needed throughout the event to keep a clean and orderly environment.
• Assist with event breakdown and cleanup tasks, including removing linens, folding chairs, and dismantling decorations.
• Complete post‑event cleaning and sanitation procedures to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in banquet areas.

• High‑level customer service skills – effective communication with guests and team members.
• Ability to follow instructions, learn quickly, pay attention to detail, and maintain composure under pressure.

• Preferably experienced in serving and/or banquet setup.
• Comfortable operating A/V equipment (both in‑house and external vendor).
• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Must be of legal age if serving alcohol.
