Pay Range: $16.60–$20.00 per hour
- Maintain inventory of linens, cleaning supplies, and supplies distributed to clients. Wash towels and linens as needed. Maintain a clean and orderly storage area.
- Clean common areas of the building including the lobby, public bathrooms, employee offices and conference rooms. Clean and disinfect all toilets, urinals, washbasins, tubs and showers. Clean mirrors and countertops. Restock bathroom paper supplies.
- Clean and prepare rooms after client discharge in anticipation of new clients.
- Provide assistance in ensuring coordinated efforts with other areas, as assigned.
- All other duties as assigned.
- 1–2 years’ experience in housekeeping.
- Must be able to use cleaning products in a safe fashion.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of or willingness and aptitude to learn the concepts involved with maintaining the cleanliness of the building.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative and be a self-starter.
- Attention to detail.
- A positive attitude and the ability to be flexible in light of changing job situations/priorities.
- Supportive of the mission of The Salvation Army.
- Required to perform light to moderate physical work.
- Required to use standard cleaning equipment.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
- Work environment includes a residential environment with a low to moderate noise level.
- Must be able to work with clients that have poor social skills, suffer from mental illness, and have substance abuse problems.
