Primary Objective of Position

Assist the cooks in the preparation of all food items for the Travelle kitchen using standardized recipes from Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) or guest checks.

Responsibilities and

Job Duties

• Supply the assigned workstation with all needed products and culinary equipment for prompt production.
• Prepare all prep work for menu items using standardized recipes as a guide; set up and prepare items for banquets per prep lists and BEOs.
• Store all food in refrigerated boxes including covers, labels and dates, using the proper containers and labels to protect against waste and spoilage.
• Always maintain a clean and sanitized area.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to walk, use hands to handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, stand, taste and smell, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to use a chef knife.

Education / Experience Required

• Prior line or banquet cook experience of one year preferred.
• Working knowledge of how to clean and cut vegetables and fruits.
• Familiarity with classical knife cuts and ability to name all mother sauces and prepare at least 3 of them.
• High school diploma preferred.

Licenses or Certificates

• Ability to obtain any government required license or certificate.

Salary Range

$27.25-$28.12/hour
