Base pay range

$15.75/hr - $15.75/hr

Principal Responsibilities / Position Purpose

Transport dirty dishes, tableware and linen to appropriate areas. Reset tables for guests.

Shift Timing

5:30 AM - 2:00 PM Fridays and Saturdays

Essential Functions
  • 50% Quickly clear flatware, china, glassware and linen. Clean floor & table and reset as prescribed. Promptly and consistently reset all service ware as prescribed.
  • 25% Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment, including silverware, linen and condiments.
  • 25% Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
Supportive Functions
  • Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard HPH cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
  • Folding napkins for all meal periods throughout the day to maintain an adequate supply.
  • Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking side stands.
  • Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills, handling special guest requests, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Attend required meetings.

Other Duties
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by HPH from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company.
Safety Requirements

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged, or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your manager.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability
  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and serviceware.
  • Ability to understand and communicate English to comprehend and respond to basic guest requests. Ability to understand written English to read any caution or safety notices.
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, transport up to 50 lbs. through a crowded room.
  • Ability to move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 200 lbs.
Education

Grade school education preferred.

Experience

Prefer six (6) months previous bussing experience.

Licenses or Certificates

Must obtain any government-required licenses or certificates. Examples include a Washington Health Card Permit;
Oregon Liquor Service Permit;
Alcohol Service Permit. CPR certification and/or 1st Aid Training preferred.

Grooming/Uniforms

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as part of the orientation process.

Notice

Standing, bending, stooping, and lifting weights up to and including lbs. may be required. The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
