Position: Contract Recruiter - 6 Month Contract

Contract Recruiter – Tempus, Chicago, IL

Join our People Operations team for a 6‑month contract recruiting Sales and Customer Success talent in precision medicine. Tempus uses AI‑powered insights to help physicians make better treatment decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate regularly with hiring teams and recruiting leads about interview progress and updates
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to define role requirements and create compelling job descriptions
  • Source and attract candidates via job boards, social media, referrals, and direct outreach
  • Screen resumes and conduct initial phone or video interviews to assess qualifications and cultural fit
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews with internal teams, ensuring a seamless process for candidates and stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate records of candidate interactions and statuses in our ATS
  • Provide an exceptional candidate experience by communicating clearly and promptly throughout the hiring process
  • Partner with HR and hiring managers to extend offers and assist in negotiations
  • Track and report key recruiting metrics (time‑to‑fill, source of hire)
  • Contribute to employer branding initiatives by promoting the company’s culture, values, and employee value proposition
  • Stay up to date on labor laws, hiring best practices, and DEI strategies
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of full‑cycle, internal recruiting experience
  • Strong track record of sourcing and recruiting in Healthcare / Life Sciences markets
  • Outstanding organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and diligent task follow‑through
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong communicator and ability to manage up
  • Highly collaborative, with a strong team orientation
  • Proven experience using sourcing tools and systems (ATS, Workday, social media tools, job databases)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; friendly, tactful, strong negotiator; ability to influence others
  • Flexibility to work in a Chicago hybrid office (3 days per week)

Preferred:

  • Sales recruitment experience
  • Healthcare recruitment experience
  • Experience with Workday ATS

Compensation & Benefits

The expected salary range applies to Illinois. Compensation may vary for other locations (California, Colorado, New York). Benefits may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits depending on the position.
