Responsibilities
- Reviews, tracks, and documents in compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Reviews background checks, drug screens, and employment eligibility verifications. Identifies variances from accepted guidelines and escalates matters to the Senior HR Director as needed.
- Works with other Human Resources Department staff and various internal stakeholders to investigate and resolve general employee matters.
- Performs complex tasks required to administer and execute human resource policies and programs including but not limited to compensation, overtime pay, leaves; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; random drug testing process, productivity, recognition, and morale.
- Works in collaboration with safety department on drug and alcohol testing requirements, occupational health and safety matters.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Senior Human Resources Director.
- Works with Compensation & Benefits Administrator on tracking LOAs requests (FMLA / CFRA, PDL, PFL) and assists in completion of state and federal forms.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Monitors and updates all the related HR information systems with relevant employee data.
- Assists with preparation of plans, policies, documents, and various reports including but not limited to EEO-1, affirmative action plans, organizational charts, and employee handbooks.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years of human resource experience required.
