Bellwood Developmental Center, an 82‑bed ICF/DD Facility, is looking for an experienced, creative and dependable Human Resources and Business Office Manager to join our dynamic, caring, progressive and close‑knit community.
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Administrator, the Human Resources and Business Office Manager manages all business functions and personnel including accounts receivable, accounts payable, resident trust funds, company policy and programs, and other assigned duties. The Business Office Manager ensures the financial systems are accurate, efficient, and in accordance with professional accounting practices, government regulations and state and federal laws.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as Business Office Manager in a Long‑Term Care Facility.
- Foster a cooperative team approach throughout the company.
- Carry out duties and responsibilities for Accounts Receivable functions: verify financial payments (Medicare, Medicaid, Insurance) and perform daily Census.
- Handle Medicaid billing and follow‑up, Medicaid Redeterminations and other Medicaid paperwork requests.
- Process patient billing, deposits, and follow‑up for Private R&B and Personal Liability.
- Meet with residents and families to complete paperwork as needed.
- Effectively deliver training to management in various HR topics such as interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and harassment.
- Process payroll: maintain time and labor system, process time records, compile payroll statistics, maintain payroll records, and calculate payrolls and manage earnings and deductions according to company policy to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with administering company benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, 401(k), vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Audit and enter data for HRIS system accuracy.
- Provide necessary data and reports from HRIS system to satisfy reporting requirements and assist with projects and presentations.
- Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Organize employee personnel files and related information.
- Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency in department operations.
- Possess knowledge of Medical Billing, especially familiarity with Medicaid in a long‑term care environment.
