Platform Engineer​/Ruby Automation​/Chicago​/Hybrid

This full-time Software Engineer, Infrastructure opportunity is fully remote and supports a fast-growing technology company focused on delivering modern, customer-facing products 'll work with a cutting-edge cloud-native stack—including AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, Go, and Ruby—to help build and maintain the platform and tooling that power their core services.

This role is perfect for someone who loves blending software engineering with Dev Ops/SRE-style impact. You’ll join a high-performing Infrastructure Engineering team responsible for automation, reliability, and developer enablement across the entire engineering organization. Your work will directly influence how quickly teams ship, how reliably products operate, and how the platform scales to millions of users. It’s a chance to own meaningful infrastructure, build modern internal tooling, and grow your skills in cloud architecture, platform engineering, and large-scale distributed systems—all while working in a collaborative, supportive, and remote-friendly environment.

• 2+ years of cloud and infrastructure engineering experience
• Strong development experience in Go, Ruby, or similar languages
• Prior experience in a Dev Ops, SRE, or Production Engineering role
• Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes
• Experience building and managing high-availability cloud infrastructure
• Proficiency with Terraform or other IaC tools
• Familiarity with CI/CD, testing platforms, and observability tools
• Experience supporting databases, message buses, or caching systems
• Strong communication skills and ability to partner with cross-functional teams

• Experience with AWS, ArgoCD, Datadog
• Understanding of 12-Factor App design principles
• Experience building self-service tooling or internal platforms
• Positive, collaborative attitude with a customer-focused mindset

Tech Breakdown

• 50% infrastructure automation / IaC
• 50% backend tooling & platform development (Go/Ruby)

Daily Responsibilities

• 40% building and maintaining cloud infrastructure using automation and IaC
• 30% developing internal tools and enabling self-service capabilities
• 30% ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and observability across services
