Position:
Microsoft BI Architect

Job Location:

Chicago, IL
Duration: 12+ months

Responsibilities:
  • Architect, design, and develop BI solutions including data warehouse enhancements.
  • Utilize SDLC methodology for requirement gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Design, develop, and test data management functions such as matching, merging, consolidation, purging, cleansing, and ETL processes.
  • Apply Microsoft BI expertise in system architecture design, development, and maintenance.
  • Design, build, and enhance data marts and analytic engines.
  • Install, configure, and customize analytics management tools as needed.
  • Design, develop, and support BI reports and interface ETL code.
  • Assist with hardware, software, and data communications architecture and sizing.
  • Contribute to the development and support of ongoing production services.
  • Collaborate with business teams to define and document requirements.
  • Create reports and dashboards, analyze data, and interpret complex data sets.
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Test and validate data flows and reports.
    • Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in designing and developing scalable BI solutions for large data warehouses.
  • Extensive knowledge of database management, replication, data warehouse systems, and BI tools.
  • Understanding of SQL Server 2012, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, including dimensional modeling and SharePoint BI integration.
  • Advanced knowledge of relational database design and multidimensional/tabular concepts.
  • 5+ years experience with ETL tools like Microsoft SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and programming languages such as T-SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Proven experience in creating impactful reports and dashboards using major BI tools.
  • Experience in IT architecture planning, software development methodologies, and team leadership.
  • Ability to provide simplified, standardized solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Knowledge of database administration, SQL, and MDX concepts.
  • Stay updated with BI best practices and operational requirements.
  • Strong analytical, multitasking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Mentor and train BI team resources in Microsoft BI technologies and best practices.
