Summary

Chamberlain Advisors is partnering with a leading equity derivatives clearing organization to hire a Senior Network Solutions Engineer with deep experience in AWS networking and traditional routing/switching. This position focuses on stabilizing, modernizing, and guiding cloud and hybrid networking for mission‑critical environments. The engineer will design, implement, troubleshoot, and optimize AWS‑centric network architectures while helping the organization transition from legacy environments to new cloud‑integrated designs.

This role requires a consultant‑like engineer who has built cloud network environments multiple times before, can evaluate complex architectures, and can recommend and implement improvements with minimal oversight.

What You Will Be Accountable For
  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot AWS networking components including:
Transit Gateways, VPC routing and switching fundamentals, cloud‑to‑on‑prem connectivity issues, AWS Direct Connect / dedicated connections, AWS‑based firewall deployments.
  • Ensure proper interaction between cloud networking underlays and application workloads.
  • Provide expert‑level guidance to developers and application teams on cloud networking architecture and stability.
  • Support and improve dual parallel environments (legacy + new design) while contributing to the phased retirement of legacy networking.
  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN infrastructures across multi‑site environments.
  • Execute routine and advanced operational network changes as part of BAU activities.
  • Maintain and optimize routing/switching architectures to support high availability and predictable network behavior.
  • Act as a technical consultant—evaluate current designs, identify issues, and recommend improvements or rebuilds where needed.
  • Support project execution by providing architecture input, performing implementation tasks, and validating readiness for project closure.
  • Partner with network engineering, security, and project management teams to manage risk, elevate issues, and remove obstacles.
  • Manage and troubleshoot firewall technologies such as Checkpoint (preferred), Palo Alto / FMC, AWS‑native firewall services.
  • Ensure proper segmentation, policy enforcement, and connectivity between hybrid environments.
  • Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and cross‑team presentations.
  • Use network monitoring and management tools to maintain visibility, performance, and reliability.
What Qualifications You Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience implementing and supporting complex network solutions.
  • AWS Networking expertise—hands‑on experience with transit gateways, VPC routing, Direct Connect, cloud‑to‑on‑prem troubleshooting, and AWS security controls.
  • Strong routing/switching fundamentals and multi‑site operational awareness.
  • Experience designing and implementing new network architectures (not just maintaining existing systems).
  • Experience with major firewall platforms (Checkpoint or Palo Alto).
  • Cisco ACI knowledge (helpful but not required).
  • Certifications such as CCNP or CCIE.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (Solar Winds, Thousand Eyes, DNAC).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and influence development, cloud, and infrastructure teams.
  • Comfort working in evolving, complex hybrid environments.
