The VP, Media & Growth is a senior leadership role responsible for driving agency growth through new business development, strategic media leadership, and team management. Reporting to the EVP, Media & Growth, this role blends high-level business development with hands‑on leadership of media strategy and pitch execution. The VP will collaborate across Mission One Media and Barkley

OKRP, orchestrating pitch engagements, strengthening internal and external relationships, and ensuring the agency remains at the forefront of media innovation and growth.

Reports To: EVP, Media & Growth

The Role

Growth Leadership & Business Development
  • Lead the agency’s business development initiatives for full-funnel Media AOR and related engagements, from initial outreach through RFI/RFP, pitch, and post-pitch transition.
  • Develop and implement growth strategies in partnership with agency leadership, ensuring alignment with Mission One Media’s capabilities and market opportunities.
  • Oversee and guide the pitch process, including narrative development, team casting, timeline management, and production of credentials and proposal materials.
  • Cultivate relationships with industry consultants, prospective clients, and key stakeholders to drive new business opportunities and keep the agency top‑of‑mind in the marketplace.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and evolving client needs to inform and adapt business development strategies.
Media & Account Leadership
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of media strategy, investment, and optimization across all channels, collaborating with subject matter experts to develop innovative solutions for client pitches and organic growth.
  • Serve as executive lead on select media clients, overseeing account health, strategic direction, and growth opportunities.
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and activate pitch teams, ensuring the right expertise and resources are deployed for each opportunity.
  • Support the integration of growth practice with the broader agency network, sharing best practices and leveraging global capabilities.
Team Management & Collaboration
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and high performance.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams (Media, Analytics, CRM, Strategy, Creative, etc.) to ensure seamless execution of business development and client initiatives.
  • Champion Mission One Media’s interests with partners and consultants, positioning the agency favorably for new opportunities.
  • Mentor team members and provide strategic guidance across select accounts, contributing to the overall strategic direction of the agency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and orchestrate many aspects of the agency’s pitch process, from strategy to execution, ensuring best‑in‑class content and delivery.
  • Drive the development of written RFIs, RFPs, and credentials content, collaborating with subject matter experts to showcase Mission One Media’s capabilities.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, including organic growth within existing accounts.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with client stakeholders, consultants, and the broader agency network.
  • Guide the Growth team in developing compelling propositions, strategic approaches, media plans, and commercial models for pitches and client engagements.
  • Support cross‑functional collaboration, ensuring alignment and knowledge‑sharing across all relevant teams.
  • Monitor and report on business development pipeline and milestones, ensuring timely progress and accountability.
Qualifications
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in media, marketing, or consulting, with a proven track record in business development or agency growth roles and a proven track record of winning pitches.
