We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Technician to join our team in Chicago, IL. This role is critical to the uptime and reliability of our data center operations, serving as the first line of defense for network and hardware, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and mechanical infrastructure. This position ensures the smooth operation of mission‑critical hardware and networking equipment.

Data Center Operations & Network Support

• Troubleshoot and resolve data center infrastructure issues, including hardware, fiber, networking, and related connectivity problems.
• Perform rack deployment, rack cabling, server decommissioning, and hardware/software troubleshooting.
• Conduct fiber optics troubleshooting and network switch management.
• Assist with PC hardware configurations and minimal system setup for operational readiness.

Break‑Fix & Repair

• Diagnose and repair hardware failures including server components, network devices, and critical infrastructure.
• Perform isolation testing to identify root causes of system issues.
• Collaborate with other IT and facilities teams to ensure rapid incident response and resolution.

• 2+ years of experience in data center operations, IT infrastructure, or related technical roles.
• Hands‑on experience with electrical and mechanical systems in mission‑critical environments.
• Strong hardware troubleshooting skills (break, fix, and repair).
• Knowledge of fiber optics, network switches, and cabling.
• Experience with rack installation, cabling, and decommissioning.
• Ability to bring PCs to minimal configuration and troubleshoot basic system issues.
• Server+ Certification is a plus.
• Experience performing isolation testing is a bonus.

Work Environment:

• Onsite role (5 days per week).
• Must be comfortable working in a 24/7 mission‑critical environment with rotating on‑call responsibilities if needed.
• Requires lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces when needed.
